On the morning of the event, volunteers from the Youth Volunteer Association of JUFE School of Sociology and Humanities arrived at Changleng 80 Central Community at 9:00 a.m. to begin preparations for the Chinese New Year volunteer activities.
Following the task assignments, the volunteers moved to designated activity areas. They set up the venues, arranged activity materials such as calligraphy brushes, ring toss equipment, and lantern riddles, and checked supply lists to ensure that all materials were in place. More than ten activities, including the Chinese calligraphy experience and interactive lantern riddle games, were prepared accordingly.
Volunteers also laid out red paper for writing the character “Fu” and posted game rules at each activity station, completing the groundwork to ensure the smooth operation of the event.

In the afternoon, the Chinese New Year–themed activities officially began. Within the community, volunteers guided children step by step in writing the Chinese character “Fu” with calligraphy brushes, while residents held their finished works and took photos. In the Alley Classroom, games such as “Quick Hands and Sharp Eyes” and the New Year–themed chopstick challenge were held in succession, drawing continuous cheers and laughter from participants.
At the “Ring in New Year’s Blessings” booth, ring toss games attracted many residents, adding to the festive atmosphere. Other activity stations, including “Spinning to Find ‘Fu’” and the “Time Post Office,” further enhanced community engagement. The stamp-collecting and prize-redemption system helped maintain high participation and kept the on-site atmosphere lively throughout the event.

This community volunteer activity not only allowed residents of Changleng 80 Central Community to experience the festive atmosphere of the Spring Festival, but also demonstrated the sense of responsibility and commitment of students from the JUFE School of Sociology and Humanities. The Youth Volunteer Association of the School will continue to uphold the spirit of volunteerism—dedication, friendship, mutual assistance, and progress—by engaging with more communities and organizing service activities that bring warmth and care, thereby contributing to sustained grassroots community development.
