
On the morning of June 15, the "Chinese Poetry, Calligraphy andPainting Campus Tour" visiting Jiangxi University of Finance andEconomics (JUFE), concurrent with the "New Liberal Arts LectureHall", was held at our university. The event was jointlysponsored by the Chinese Society of Poetry, Calligraphy and Paintingand JUFE, and co-organized by the Publicity Department of the PartyCommittee, the Academic Affairs Office, the School of Society andHumanities, and the Education Branch of the Chinese Society ofPoetry, Calligraphy and Painting. Jidi Majia, former Vice-Chairmanand Member of the Secretariat of the China Writers Association, andHonorary President of the Chinese Society of Poetry, Calligraphy andPainting, was invited to be a guest at the university's "NewLiberal Arts Lecture Hall" and delivered a special lecture.Prof. Liu Yaobin, Secretary of the University Party Committee, andProf. Deng Hui, President of the University, attended relevantactivities, while Prof. Que Shandong, Member of the University PartyCommittee and Vice President presided over the lecture.
Li Guofu, Standing Vice President of the Chinese Society of Poetry,Calligraphy and Painting, Member of the Cultural and Art Committee ofthe Central Committee of the China Association for PromotingDemocracy, and initiator of the Chinese Poetry, Calligraphy andPainting Public Welfare Tour; Yang Siping, Professor of ShanghaiInternational Studies University and Deputy Director of the ChinaOffice of the World Congress of Poets; and Li Zhe, a young poet andwinner of the 10th Yangtze River Young Poet Award, attended theevent. Also present were responsible persons of relevant universityunits, representative poets from the Elderly Poetry Association(Candlelight Poetry Club) and the Qinyuan Poetry Club of JUFE AlumniAssociation, as well as representatives of poetry, calligraphy andpainting lovers, teachers and students.


Liu Yaobin and Jidi Majia's delegation jointly visited the Poetry,Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition at the university's Boya ArtCenter, and Liu presented Jidi Majia with the letter of appointmentas a visiting professor.

Deng Hui met with Jidi Majia's delegation, and Jidi Majia presentedthe university with his own poetry works.

With the theme "The Spiritual Pursuit of Poetry and Poetry'sInterpretation of Life and Reality - Taking the Poems 'The Right toBelief' and 'Grateful to the Earth' as Examples", Jidi Majiadelivered a special lecture to teachers and students. Starting fromthe creative content of the two poems, the lecture led teachers andstudents to look back on the heroic sacrifices made by the oldergeneration of revolutionary martyrs to change the national destiny,and to feel the endless power that Mother Earth endows humanity withfor reproduction. It enabled everyone to comprehend the pursuit offaith, the eulogy of life and the reverence for nature throughpoetry. Jidi Majia also gave lectures and shared insights on topicssuch as the linguistic style of ancient poetry appreciation, theartistic expression forms of modern poetry, the comparativedifferences between Chinese and foreign poetry, the characteristicsof poetry creation in the AI era, and the techniques of poetrycreation. He believed that the life of poetry lies in innovation, andthe core of its aesthetic perception lies in the presentation ofindividual experience, feelings and life.

When presiding over the lecture, Que Shandong pointed out that poetryis a treasure of China's excellent traditional culture. This event isa vivid practice in promoting China's excellent traditional culture.For the participants, it is not only an edification of literaryliteracy, but also a baptism of the spiritual world. It plays apositive role in helping teachers and students further enhancecultural confidence, practice the Long March spirit and the power offaith, be grateful for the source of life, and cultivate feelings forthe country and the family.


After the lecture, a poetry recital was held. Jidi Majia, Li Guofu,Yang Siping, Li Zhe, Zhang Xinting (an alumni representative of theQinyuan Poetry Club of JUFE Alumni Association), Teacher Yan Wu, andtwo student representatives respectively recited excellent poems,demonstrating the charm of poetry on site.
On the afternoon of the same day, a roundtable meeting on China'sexcellent traditional culture was held. Four guests including JidiMajia, Li Guofu, Yang Siping and Li Zhe shared their insights onlearning China's excellent traditional culture with young studentsand conducted interactive exchanges with them.


The participating students actively raised questions around topicssuch as how to understand the role of traditional culture in shapingcollege students' values and cultivating their personalities, how toview the integration of modern poetry, national culture and Chinesecivilization, how to enhance cross-cultural communicationcapabilities under the background of the "Two Combinations",and how to cope with and relieve pressure through inheriting China'sexcellent traditional culture. The participating guests answered eachquestion one by one, which won warm applause.
